Grueninger Travel is a Fort Wayne based travel agency, proudly family owned and operated for over 50 years.
We specialize in resorts and all-inclusives, river and ocean cruising, and guided tours.
Grueninger Travel has been family owned and operated since 1974, when Jim Reffeitt purchased the agency from Othmar Grueninger. In addition to running a full-service travel agency, Jim had a tradition of operating charters to Las Vegas led by local radio and TV personalities.
In 1992, Deb and Gary Hanauer purchased the agency. Having worked at Grueninger Travel for most of her life, Deb realized she could make a career out of travel after a life changing trip to Alaska her sophomore year of college. Shortly after the couple purchased the agency, Gary turned his efforts to continuing the gaming charters that Jim started, building up the casino junket businesses of Grueninger Travel Casino Trips and Casino Gold Tours.
After celebrating 50 successful years, Grueninger Travel is now owned by the third generation of family owners: Joe and Julia Hanauer. Joe manages Grueninger Gold Casino Travel (formerly Grueninger Casino Trips and Casino Gold Tours), while Julia manages Grueninger Travel’s leisure travel department.
The pair are thrilled to carry on the family business and continue to help open the world to travelers in Fort Wayne and beyond.
Our latest addition to the team is travel advisor, Kylie Ward. Kylie has always had a passion for travel since studying abroad in Italy while in college. Since then, she has hiked all through Iceland, sailed the islands of Greece, and has seen the Eiffel Tower sparkle with a crepe in hand.
